Reliably moving fiat to crypto

Problem context

Ratio's mission was to empower individuals to get paid in cryptocurrency. I joined Ratio as its first employee. The primary challenge for me was to validate the value proposition and help scale the business for a successful exit.

Prior to Ratio I directed and mentored teams of designers at Publicis Sapient

I dedicated most of my time to the personal and professional growth of my 10 direct reports and an extended team of 30 designers. I took on a mentorship role, offering guidance and support to help them develop their tactical and strategic skills to advance in their careers.

Bradley is a champion of strategy and innovating to solve complex problems. His ability to pinpoint problems and potential pitfalls across journeys is remarkable. He isn't afraid to ask the tough questions to deliver the best solution for users, nor does he just give in to what he knows is not right.

Guiding principles

1
Don't design for user wants. Design for user needs.

Don't design products based on what users say they want. Instead delve deep to discover their latent needs. Through continuous dialogue and observation aim to understand not just the explicit demands but the underlying needs that even the users themselves may not be aware of.

2
Embrace collective wisdom for holistic understanding

No single perspective can capture the totality of a problem or its solution. Value the inclusion of diverse viewpoints in the design process and aim for a more complete and nuanced understanding of the challenges at hand.

3
Sweat the small stuff: Details make the difference

The difference between a good product and a great one often lies in the details. Craft experiences that not only meet functional requirements but also delight users.

4
You can’t read the label from inside the bottle

Don't become so engrossed in the details of your design that you lose sight of the overall user experience and business objectives.

How I lead

1
Cultivate a balanced team through complementary opposition

I Prioritize the hiring and development of team members who bring diverse yet complementary skills and cognitive perspectives to the table. By embracing both skill and cognitive diversity as forms of constructive opposition, I aim to create a more resilient, innovative, and effective team.

2
Identify and eliminate procedural, technical, and interpersonal roadblocks

I Commit to proactively identifying and eliminating roadblocks—be they procedural, technical, or interpersonal—that hinder team performance by fostering an environment of open communication.

3
Psychological safety—for everyone!

I strive to create an environment where every team member feels safe to express their ideas, take calculated risks, and admit mistakes. The culture of psychological safety is be the bedrock to foster genuine relationships, and align our actions congruent with core values.

Brad led our design organization with a focus on top-notch craft and design thinking, bringing a strong and sometimes opinionated perspective to everything from user experience to product strategy.
